Howell is host to the popular Michigan Challenge Ballonfest, a hot-air balloon event held each and every summer, featuring a spectacular spectacle of more than 50 beautiful balloo0ns each and every day. The town is also proud to host the annual Howell Melon Festival, which continues to honor Howell’s most valued agricultural crop.
Nature Center:
A popular mainstay and attraction of Howell, says Karen Dilworth, is the Howell Conference and Nature Center, located on over 270 lakeside acres and that serves as home to a bevy of wildlife species, providing a protective habitat to permanently injured animals. The nature center is home to a multitude of deer, coyotes, hawks, owls, bobcats, foxes and more, and offers a unique wildlife viewing opportunity to visitors of all ages.
Downtown:
The downtown area of Howell is actually a National Historic District, and includes a variety of shops, boutiques, restaurants and more to the aspiring shopper and/or cuisine aficionado.
