The city of Howell also hosts the Howell Melon Festival. Howell’s most appreciated agricultural crop is the melon, to which they honor every year.
Howell has its own attraction outside of the temporary festivals. The Howell Conference and Nature center, located on over 270 lakeside acres, serves as home to a massive amount of wildlife species. The center provides a protective environment for animals that are permanently injured. The nature center is a home to an astounding amount and type of animals including deer, coyotes, hawks, owls, bobcats, foxes and more. With all these animals in one place, visitors have a one of a kind opportunity to see these animals together.
